At-home Tips for Dry Skin

There isn’t a person on earth that doesn’t hate when their skin doesn’t look the way they’d like it to. Having dry skin is actually a condition that is not rare at all. There are many factors that can cause dryness, such as cold weather, bathing excessively with harsh soaps, using cosmetic products that are not good for our skin, too much sun or wind exposure, or medical conditions such as dermatitis. The main symptoms of dry skin are that the skin feels rough and tight, because there is a low level of sebum and the skin is not able to retain moisture. There are many home made remedies that help relieve dry skin and we will look into a couple of them

One of the things that you can do is to apply essential oils on your skin. Some of the oils that you can use are rose hip oil, lavender oil, chamomile, and Sandalwood oil. For example, rose hip oil is very rich in vitamin A and vitamin C, and both are very good for the skin. It is also used to heal scarring and lessen the appearance of photo aging.

The fundamental principle of fighting dry skin is to drink plenty of water. If not, what you apply on your skin is irrelevant because you will never get long lasting results. Another tip is to take a bath and add to the water one cup of baking soda and if you want to even make it better, you can do the following: mix 1 cup of oatmeal, 1 cup of warm water, 1 tablespoon vanilla extract, and 1/2 cup baking soda in a mixer. You will get a soft paste. Let this mix run with the water as you are filling your tub to take a bath. You will experience the softness after it.

Other Options to Fight Dry Skin

Making a cucumber paste also helps. You have to leave the mix on for 10 minutes after you apply it and before you rinse it off. If you do this a couple of times a week, you will see results very quickly. Another tip is to mix 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise with a spoon of baby oil and apply it on your skin or apply a thick layer of Vaseline. In both procedures you have to leave the mixtures on your skin for 20 minutes and then rinse off with warm water.

If you feel that your skin is not as dry as to have to follow these home made treatments, here are some tips for you: drink plenty of water, like we mentioned before, avoid very hot water when you shower because it dries your skin, when you will be exposed to the sun, make sure you use a good sun block to protect your skin. Also, use a moisturizing lotion or a dry skin balm daily.

Dry skin is a problem that affects many people all over the world. If this is not taken care of, it can lead to conditions such as eczema. Using natural skin products can help your skin without the risk of second side effects. For a dermatitis treatment or a natural balm for eczema, BIOBEAUTYBALM line is the product line you are looking for. Your skin will feel softer than ever.

Aerophobia - Cure Fear Of Flying With NLP & Hypnosis

Have you ever felt afraid of getting on an airplane? If so, you aren’t the only one. The fear of flying, known as Aerophobia, is one of the most common fears that people have. This fear is often a devastating, overwhelming feeling. It can even keep you from getting around; traveling significant distances, or seeing friends and family. Beating such a phobia used to take years of therapy, but today there are hypnosis therapy and NLP techniques to work against phobias for faster, life-changing results.

Do you wonder what defines a phobia? Phobias are categorized as a type of anxiety disorder, and many people who suffer from them may experience anxiety attacks and other unpleasant feelings such as shakiness, nausea, or an increased heart rate. Many sufferers complain of feeling unwell or losing their ability to control themselves, and arrange their daily life around their phobia in an effort to get around their fears.

For those with Aerophobia, even the simple idea of getting on an airplane can trigger symptoms of a panic attack. Other sufferers might feel only slightly nervous while the plane is grounded, but panic once the aircraft takes off.

Imagine a scenario in which a woman with Aerophobia is seated on a plane before takeoff. She starts to feel nervous and her heart begins to race. She knows it is safe to fly, but she is afraid nonetheless. Once the airplane is in the air, she cannot help but cry uncontrollably, and continues to cry throughout the flight until she is able to get off the airplane. Although it may sound extreme, this type of response is shared by a surprisingly high number of people.

Phobias are marked by extreme, illogical fear. Those with Aerophobia are afraid of flying even when they realize that flying is actually a safe form of travel. They may feel ashamed when they react by sobbing, trembling, or having an anxiety attack, but feel powerless to restrain themselves. For sufferers, this fear of embarrassment is as discouraging as the fear of flying itself.

In reality, phobia sufferers cannot control their behavior because their anxieties are based at an unconscious level, which no amount of willpower or conscious effort can help. This is where hypnosis therapy works. Ericksonian hypnosis and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) techniques work in the unconscious mind to effectively treat phobias.

A well-designed hypnosis program for extinguishing a phobia has several successive steps. Step one is hypnotherapy for stress-relief, quelling anxiety and tension. Once you feel stress-free and relaxed, hypnosis forms new thoughts in the unconscious to eliminate the phobia. NLP itself eliminates fears by exclusively pinpointing the phobia causing thought process.

Unlike traditional hypnosis, which utilizes direct post-hypnotic suggestions, Ericksonian hypnosis therapy uses indirect suggestions hidden in discussion to convince the unconscious to follow a new, more reasonable way of thinking. It is more effective than traditional hypnotherapy because people usually ignore straightforward post-hypnotic suggestions, but find it difficult to reject indirect suggestions that are hidden in fascinating stories and metaphors.

The specific wording of post-hypnotic inductions in traditional hypnotherapy means that many traditional hypnosis programs will only work to treat one phobia. A note-worthy feature of the Ericksonian hypnotherapy and NLP program is that it is not phobia specific and can work on any phobia, in anyone. It works for most people because the system is made up of several unique hypnosis techniques assembled for maximum effectiveness.

The most useful fear eliminating NLP technique that I have studied is known as the Visual - Kinesthetic Disassociation. The nickname for the V/K is the “one session phobia cure,” and with good reason!

The combined Ericksonian hypnosis and NLP program is perfect for a logical person who wants to beat an illogical phobia permanently. People can go through the step-by-step process at their own individual pace, but are often surprised at the ease with which they complete the process and fight their phobia. The results people see with hypnosis often seem simply miraculous.

Hypnosis therapy and NLP are life-changing tools for many suffering from phobias. Ericksonian hypnosis and NLP have helped countless people beat their fears. The techniques are perfect for helping individuals who are afraid of flying to enjoy airplane travel and all of its benefits. For a long time, hypnotherapy has been used to change people’s lives globally, and eliminating fears is just one of many ways in which it helps people.

Healing Balm for Eczema and Dermatitis

There are two very common skin conditions that cause itching and redness. These two are eczema and dermatitis. The following text will explore some treatment options that can help soothe your skin and restore its healthy appearance.

Eczema is a skin condition that presents itself as dryness and recurring skin rashes. People suffering from eczema sufferers will usually show one or two of the following symptoms:

*redness

*inflamed skin

*itching and dryness

*cracked skin

Due to healing patches of skin there may also be signs of discoloration. One of the biggest problems encountered by eczema sufferers is facial dry skin. This occurs because the facial area is difficult to cover.

Dermatitis, on the other hand, is a term used to define a number of skin conditions that causes inflammation of the skin. Case in point, eczema is a considered to be a form of dermatitis, however, not all dermatitis is considered to be eczema. Furthermore, some other common forms of dermatitis are also allergic contact dermatitis and psoriasis.

Treatment options for Eczema & dermatitis

Eczema really has no cure so its treatment is usually focused on alleviating its symptoms like inflammation and itching. Some of the more traditional treatment options may include antihistamines, corticosteroid injections, antibiotics, and immunosuppressants. Each one of these treatments, however, comes with its own caveat.

Corticosteroid injections can lead to thinning and fragile skin. Immunosuppressants should only be used under strict observation of a medical doctor and antihistamines are only effective against the itching. Antibiotics are only used when eczema has produced cracks in the skin.

Since dermatitis is such a broad term, its treatment options depend on the type of dermatitis that you have been diagnosed with. In these cases, treatment can range from steroids to anti-allergy medicine to UV light therapy.

The common denominator for both dermatitis and eczema is dry skin. This skin condition it is usually associated with both. The proper dry skin care is achieved with an effective and safe dry skin cream that is capable of alleviating most, if not all, of the symptoms.

In the case of dry skin care treatment you should use a special healing balm specifically suited to treat eczema and dermatitis. Make sure that whatever product you buy - be it a cleanser or moisturizer - is alcohol free. Alcohol is detrimental to skin causing it to dry out and exacerbating existing conditions. Dry skin creams are probably the most important product that you can have. By keeping your skin moisturized, you can control and alleviate irritation, itching and swelling. Some good ingredients for soothing skin are coconut oil, shea butter, rose hip oil and Helix aspersa extract.

Controlling your eczema and dermatitis with natural and effective ingredients is a good start when dealing with these common skin conditions.

Skin rashes are a very common and irritating symptom of eczema and dermatitis. You can treat your itching, irritated skin with BIOSKINBALM, a dry skin cream or simply revitalize your dry skin with rose hip oil - a natural moisturizer.

Potassium Supplements And Eating Right

Why should someone supplement Potassium? Potassium is a key ingredient to maintaining your healthy function of muscles, heart, kidneys, nerves, and the digestive system. While certain eating habits naturally will provide the potassium levels most men and women need, there are select individuals who must have more than what can be found from eating like those without potassium issues. Potassium supplements are needed for those who are experiencing temporary or permanent deficiency that empty their body of potassium, included, but not limited to: vomiting, diarrhea, dehydration, diuretic use, kidney disease, and GI disease (gastrointestinal disease) and from having fluids depleted (heat stroke, sweat, dehydration, diarrhea, etc.), from vomiting (the 24 hour flu, self-induced bulimia, as a side effect to another condition), or because of having a disease, like G.I. disease, etc. Potassium supplements commonly are seen as a mandatory measure to revive or ward off potassium deficiency problems.

At what time should you take your potassium supplements? The routine that is best for you is dependent on the specific supplement you have been prescribed, as how much you take and how often you take it varies greatly. Much of the time, however, potassium supplements often are prescribed two to four times a day, and usually with food. Your preferred druggist will help you if you have any question or trouble creep up in relation to your supplements.

How should you best take potassium supplements? Always read the label of your prescription bottle for specific to that supplement, instructions. Both tablets and capsules should be taken whole; avoid chewing, if possible. Of course, that will not be an option for every one. Individuals who experience difficulty swallowing big pills may have that as an obstacle to overcome, that is alright. Do what you must do to safely swallow your supplements. If your potassium is in liquid, granule, effervescent tablet or powder be certain to completely mix your potassium in water, before you drink it. Mixing with cold water can help in covering up bad taste, or adding your favorite fruit juice helps make your potassium friendlier on your tongue. Whichever form your potassium supplement is in, taking your dosage with a full glass of water or a combination with juice is recommended.

A mom of three, health and pilates expert in her own right, Janet is revealing the truth about potassium and the way your health is affected. Perhaps the most strange issue, is that Janet’s exposing the dark side - innocently under the impression that health buffs don’t want to be without researched lessons brimming with facts, not just convenience, or the usual tricks. When have you read that, a person who just cares to aid health buffs, giving you access to information which she herself believed was forever lost regarding foods high in potassium - how dare she!

Agoraphobia Cured By Hypnosis & NLP

Out of all the phobias that people have, agoraphobia is truly one of the most crippling of all. This arises from an irrational fear of unfamiliar or potentially uncomfortable situations, and can escalate to the point where a sufferer becomes a shut-in. If you suffer from agoraphobia, you don’t need to let this affliction dominate you. You can learn about this phobia and discover how to beat it by using hypnosis therapy.

The word agoraphobia means “fear of the marketplace,” but individuals may feel terrified in any place where there is a crowd. These settings are often public locations or new areas outside of home. Sufferers may be scared of spending time in airplanes, lines, restaurants, shopping centers, or any area where they might not be completely comfortable.

Those with agoraphobia are afraid of having nervous feelings or anxiety attacks in a setting where it would be hard or impossible for them to leave. Agoraphobics usually lead happy and typical lives in the settings where they are comfortable, even having guests and working from the security of their own homes. Unfortunately, the phobia can be so severe that sometimes sufferers will only feel safe in the most confined areas. A recent case revealed a woman whose anxiety was so extreme that she refused to come out of her bathroom for many years, causing damage to her own health as a result.

Agoraphobia often stems from other anxiety disorders and fears. For example, people with social phobia may have agoraphobia as well because they are nervous about having to interact with others. It may also stem from traumatic incidents such as having had an accident outside of the home. Soldiers will frequently develop the phobia along with post-traumatic stress disorder. It can affect people of either gender, though it is thought that agoraphobia occurs more frequently amongst women.

People afflicted with agoraphobia might feel that they risk humiliating themselves if they go out in public and have an anxiety attack. It is embarrassing for a phobia sufferer to experience symptoms such as nervous breakdowns, trembling, or sweating and feel powerless to control it.

Agoraphobia is often treated with medication or counseling. It can be especially difficult to treat because sufferers may also have other phobias and root causes for their fears.

The reason why people with phobias can’t seem to suppress their fears is because their feelings are based in the unconscious level. No amount of willpower or conscious effort can be completely effective to suppress a fear that comes from this level within the mind.

The techniques used in Ericksonian hypnosis and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) are effective on phobias because they work deep within the unconscious mind. Hypnotherapy is a great treatment option because it is non-invasive and safe, with no unhealthy side effects.

There are Ericksonian hypnosis and NLP programs available on CD that are remarkable because they can cure any phobia, or even multiple phobias if required. It is unnecessary to use a program that specifically treats each phobia. This is because a good program will work with the thought process that causes every phobia. This makes this program ideal for many agoraphobic people.

A good multi-session program will provide a variety of techniques, which will make the program effective for virtually every user. With a step-by-step process, people can beat their phobias with relative ease.

Achieving a state of calm is the first step in the hypnosis phobia program. As a form of therapy, hypnosis has been used for years for relaxation, letting even the biggest worriers feel calm and rested. Once an individual feels calm and relaxed, NLP techniques eliminate a phobia by changing the single thought process that is responsible for it.

Ericksonian hypnosis is a remarkable form of hypnotherapy that uses suggestions hidden in a story, conversation, or metaphor to treat a fear. Ericksonian hypnosis works more effectively than traditional hypnosis because the unconscious mind finds it harder to resist suggestions that are not obvious, than post-hypnotic suggestions. Unlike direct suggestions, which merely “tell” your unconscious what to do, indirect suggestions that are embedded in interesting stories and metaphors will direct your mind into a positive, anxiety-free thought process.

Those who are too afraid to leave the house can regain their confidence and freedom by using hypnotic therapy. A program with Ericksonian hypnosistechniques and NLP techniques is ideal for people who wish to overcome their fears permanently. Hypnosis therapies produce a huge benefit for people with agoraphobia and other phobias.

What Is The Mediterranean Diet Food Pyramid?

The Mediterranean Diet is a nutritional model that was created after the way that people in countries like Greece and Italy eat. Studies have shown that people in these countries have a far lower rate of disease and cancer than in any other part of the world. So now, people are taking notice.

Though this diet was developed in the 1940s by an American doctor, Americans didn’t start paying attention to it until well into the 1990s. Certainly better late than never, there are some differences between the Mediterranean Diet and the traditional American diet worth noting.

The US Food Pyramid is markedly different from the Mediterranean Diet food pyramid. In the first place, you won’t find a lot of red meat in a Mediterranean Diet. They do use red meat in their recipes, but not frequently, and in little portions. And whereas the US Food Pyramid lumps all the different kinds of meat into one category, fish takes up a big portion in the Mediterranean Diet food pyramid.

What make up the main staple of Mediterranean fare are whole grain foods, like bread and rice, couscous, potatoes, and other such things. Fruits and vegetables are also an important part of the Mediterranean diet, as are nuts and beans, and this is one thing that the two food pyramids have in common, although the quantities that are recommended are somewhat different.

The traditional US food pyramid groups all the forms of protein into one category, which makes it hard to see what specific role each type of food ought to play in your diet. The Mediterranean Diet food pyramid keeps them separate.

This Mediterranean way of thinking and eating has finally been getting attention, because people have discovered that those who follow this diet experience incredibly low rates of diseases and cancer.

The Mediterranean Diet includes plenty of red wine, usually very often in just about every meal. We know that red wine contains very powerful and beneficial antioxidants. Mediterranean cooking also uses a lot of olive oil, which is like red wine in that it, too, has its own antioxidant properties. Check out the Mediterranean Diet food pyramid and see how it can help you live a healthier life, where you can not only look better but feel better as well.
